Welcome

Hey, I'm Patrick and I'm a cinematographer and camera operator originally from the Lower Mid North, now living in Adelaide. I completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Screen) at Flinders University, South Australia, from 2020 to 2022. Since then, I've worked with various production companies on projects ranging from shark documentaries with Breakout Productions and the WTFN TV show Paramedics to corporate advertising videos.

In 2022, I took a placement with Take Two Media, where I assisted in making a Sony-funded short film, The Cabinet, to advertise their FX6. I have since joined their recent corporate and film endeavours as a camera operator and assistant, working with companies such as Study Adelaide and UniSA Aviation.

 

In early 2023, I received funding with Black Aperture from Helpmann Academy to produce a short film, Edith, to continue my development as a cinematographer. We travelled to Burra for a week to shoot this western in an old cottage, working around tight spaces and without on-site power. Edith then went on to win Gold at the Australian Cinematographers Society Awards in 2024. In 2024, I completed another Helpmann-funded short film as the director of photography on Broken Bones and Ice-Cream Cones, directed by Dante Niedzwiedz.

 

Last year, I also finished an internship at Breakout Productions and have been a camera operator with them for multiple nature documentaries, including an episode for Discovery’s Shark Week and a shark series for Love Nature. I also undertook an internship in late 2023 on the feature film With or Without You, working in the camera department under Michael Tessari.
